Brief biography
Leon Józef Lichtenbaum (?-1942?) was a lawyer, a columnist. Between 1906 and 1910 together with his probably elder brother Henryk Lichtenbaum, he was Izraelita’s editor-in-chief. He was born in Ozorków. His grandfather - Isaac Thorner-Torończyk was a well-known philanthropist. Since 1934 he was a member of B’nai-B’rith. He was also a member of Żydowskie Towarzystwo Ochrony Kobiet (Jewish Association for Women’s Protection). He published his articles also in Polish legal press. He stayed an active columnist also between in the 1930s. Probably he was killed during WWII.
