Abstract
“Qasida of an Epidemic of Typhoid Fever” is an anonymous qasida, a literary form that combines rhymed prose with rhetorical flair and metered poetry. Its stanzas describe a dangerous epidemic in Morocco. Published on a single folio in the 1940s, it represents a particular kind of feuilleton common throughout Jewish communities in North Africa.
